We know from Scripture that God promised to preserve His words. Jesus promised that heaven and earth would pass away but His words would not. These are recorded in Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31 and Luke 21:33.

We already know that God is a promise-making, promise-keeping God. That means we have only one question after that: Where are those words that God preserved?

Thankfully, we don't have to look far. Let’s consider a few major, glaring points:

• Look for the Bible of the persecuted, not the persecutor.
• Look for the Bible that men and women risked their life for in the face of that persecution.
• Look for the Bible that was circulated among the people who believed the Bible word for word.
• Look for the Bible that the world, the flesh and the devil (along with many theologians) hate with a bloody passion.
• Look for a Bible whose believers bear the fruit that God promises to those who believe His words and act on faith.

You will soon find that only one Bible in the English language fulfills all these qualifications. You might even have it in your house already: the King James Bible.

Are you tired of all the scholarly argumentation about Bibles? Let me ask you some basic questions to boil it all down.

Hi, I'm David Daniels from Chick Publications.

Do you believe God's promise to preserve His words when Jesus said in Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31 and Luke 21:33, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

Do you believe that God implied preserving His words, when He commanded us not to add to or take away from His words? If we don't have a standard, how can we know whether we've added to or taken away from it?

In the same way, in this country we have a Bureau of Weights and Measures, so we can know whether someone is cheating us at the gas pump.

Do you believe there's a Devil who wants to pervert God's words? Look no further than Genesis 3 and Matthew 4. Genesis 3:1 "...Yea, hath God said...?" Matthew 4:6 "...for it is written..."

Which Bible do you think the Devil would want?

• One that lifts up Christ, or one that lowers Christ?
• One that makes clear basic doctrines, or one that obscures basic doctrines?
• One that gives security to the believer, or one that leaves the believer a little insecure?
• A Bible that emphasizes hell and the lake of fire, or one that leaves it untranslated as Sheol, Tartarus, or Hades, or just leaves out verses of it altogether?

Do you believe the Devil wants you to have doctrines that don't contradict, or doctrines that do contradict?

Which one do you think the Lord Jesus wants you to have? What kind of Bible?

Does God's track record show Him preserving His words among Catholic monks in monasteries, in secret, for centuries, or spreading His words around for all to see, throughout history?

Does God's track record show Him using unbelievers and syncretists and Unitarians and secular scholars, to find or preserve His words? or just common people, who didn't want to add to or take away from them, who passed them down?

Does God want you to have a Bible that encourages clarity of doctrine, or obscures basic doctrines, like, say, baptism?

The mode of baptism, when you can be baptized, under what conditions... Do you want it made clear, or do you want it obscured?

Which do you think lifts up? The one from Antioch, or the one from Alexandria, Egypt, where God says, "Don't return there," in Deuteronomy 17:16 and Isaiah 31:1?

Which Bible do you think the Devil wants you to have?

And finally, if none of these doctrines, or if none of these words, phrases or verses that are removed, compared to a King James, matters, is it all just one big cosmic "coincidence" that the very same doctrines that people are rejecting or questioning today, just happen to be found in those words, phrases, and verses?

I believe the answers to these questions are more important than all the scholarly argumentation the world could muster.
