Parents Must Step Up

Parents, we must get involved in the fight for our children’s future! The world wants our children indoctrinated with lies that directly contradict the Bible. It’s our job to make sure our children grow up with solid biblical standards. But it will be a fight, as these news items illustrate.

What Is Your Child Learning?

In Rhode Island, one mom sought clarity about her child’s curriculum. Instead of cooperation, the school district demanded a $74,000 fee to produce the public records. After a legal battle, she emerged victorious but faced backlash from the local teachers' union—all for wanting to know what her child was learning.

More Screen Time, Fewer Life Skills

Parental involvement is vital for children learning how to navigate life’s challenges. When parents are not present and engaged, children learn from social media, peer pressure, memes, and other less than reputable sources. And while the immediate effects are concerning, the long-term repercussions extend well into adulthood.

Research shows that greater parental interaction leads to expanded vocabulary, higher self-esteem, and better adult adjustment. But in homes where parents aren’t engaged, those benefits vanish.

A recent Australian study illustrated that the damage of excess screen time starts early. For children aged 12-36 months they found that, “for every additional minute of screen time, children heard fewer adult words, spoke fewer vocalizations, and engaged in fewer back-and-forth interactions.”

The Social Impact is Staggering.

Justin Coulson from the Institute for Family Studies emphasizes, “Imagine a child’s world diminished by: over 1,100 adult words each day; over 840 fewer opportunities to express themselves; and nearly 200 missed chances to engage in the back-and-forth of conversation.”

That’s half a year of missed dialogue by age three! But that’s not where the impact stops. Another study found that “every hour of increased screen time in infancy was associated with decreased measures of attention and personal initiative at age nine” and [decreased] “academic achievement and emotional well-being [into adulthood].”

Is Planned Parenthood Teaching YOUR Child?

The Bible instructs parents to train their children, yet in their absence, organizations like Planned Parenthood are happy to fill the void. Did you know that Planned Parenthood teaches 1.2 million children annually by providing special curriculum to public schools?

Though sex education should be laid squarely on a parent’s shoulders, Planned Parenthood adopted the mission to reach as many children as possible with their godless agenda. Starting as early as kindergarten, students in public schools are increasingly subject to a deviant, secular sex education using Planned Parenthood “curriculum.”

Their curriculum includes pornographic materials, discusses gender fluidity, “redefines sex for LGBTQ+ youth,” includes detailed information on obtaining an abortion without a parent’s approval, promotes sexual promiscuity, and endorses prostitution.

Carol Everett, a former abortionist, shares Planned Parenthood’s chief goal when educating underage girls: “You have to break down the natural modesty. You have to become the experts in their lives, and you have to separate them from their parents and their values.”

Shore up the Foundations

These are the kinds of things that we’ll see with increasing frequency unless parents make the choice to step up and keep tabs on their kids. Engaged parents have a unique opportunity to raise children who are equipped to live according to Biblical standards and not the lies from the world.

Every aspect of the current breakdown in family dynamics and societal norms creates a deeper erosion of righteousness and biblical standards. When parents neglect to teach biblical values, the whole culture is doomed to dysfunction and chaos.

The Culture is Now the Enemy of the Family

It's so important to raise our children in the hope and truth that Christ offers, helping them grow in His righteousness through biblical principles. One creative way to bring the gospel to life for your kids is by creating a fun, eye-catching basket filled with an assortment of tracts and engaging comic books about the Bible.

Put the basket in places where your kids and their friends will naturally come across it—on the living room table, in the playroom, or even near their favorite reading spots. As they read, they’ll be drawn to the exciting stories and important lessons inside, learning about the Bible, Jesus Christ, and what it truly means to live according to God's Word. It’s a simple, hands-on way to spark curiosity and nurture their faith in everyday moments.
