Even before the President cleared open homosexuals in the military, Congressman Randy Forbes claims he has been "monitoring a steady stream of religious discrimination complaints over the past four years from Christian soldiers." Forbes says that the soldiers are telling him: "We`re afraid of going to church, we`re afraid to be seen praying, we`re afraid that would hurt our careers, our promotions." Other disturbing developments were cited:
As on a global scale, homosexual activists take an inch and then reach for a mile.
The Devil has been trying to pin the label "hate" on Bible believers for a long time. Preachers and publishers who tried to warn of Roman Catholicism`s pagan, unbiblical teachings of a wafer god, Virgin Mary goddess, and purgatory have been called hate mongers for decades. Anyone who spoke against "Christian unity" (ecumenism) was "dividing the brethren."
Now, with the rising concern about "domestic terrorism," there is a concerted effort to paint biblical "literalists" as "angry fundamentalists." The 14-page Army email mentioned above, documented groups the military considers to be anti-gay, anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim. Among the other groups mentioned are Neo-Nazis, Racist Skinheads, White Nationalists and the Ku Klux Klan.
The email accused the "Christian Right" of "engaging in the crudest type of name-calling, describing LGBT people as 'perverts" with 'filthy habits` who seek to snatch the children of straight parents and 'convert` them to gay sex," he wrote. In a way —guilty as charged.
God calls homosexual behavior an "abomination" that truly "perverts" the "normal use of the woman." (See Lev. 18:22 and Romans 1.) Homosexual sex involves practices that are grossly unclean. And the laws that require glorification of homosexuality in the schools, such as Harvey Milk Day in California, seems to be specifically designed to "convert [the students] to gay sex."
The hate campaign against Christian organizations is becoming more dangerous. A few weeks ago a gunman showed up at the offices of the Family Research Council intent on killing as many as he could. Fortunately, he was immediately confronted by a security guard who was shot but managed to disarm the intruder, Floyd Corkins II. In a plea bargain, Corkins admitted he had gained inspiration for his plot from the web site of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights advocacy group that had also listed the FRC in its list of "hate" groups.
The email also warned military leaders to look out for anyone that did not appear to have "army values." "When we see behaviors that are inconsistent with Army Values —don`t just walk by— do the right thing and address the concern before it becomes a problem." Given the concerns of the soldiers who have contacted Congressman Forbes, it appears that "army values" are no longer what they once were.
Unfortunately, it is not just "army values" that have eroded. The biblical values that our forefathers revered and that made us the most blessed nation in history are being systematically removed from all parts of our culture: schools, media, government, and homes.
The only hope is a return to the righteousness that will again exalt us from the reproach of our sin. (Prov. 14:34) Most revivals in history have been sparked by a saturation of the culture with no-nonsense gospel tracts.
Soul winners, we need to get busy.
