Evolution is Marvelous: Now a River is a Person

Belief in evolution has created some strange offspring. Yale University is organizing a conference on "Personhood Beyond the Human" for later this year. It will feature proponents of personhood rights for animals, infanticide, and bestiality. This is not about the pro-life "personhood" movement which is lobbying legislators to recognize unborn babies as persons from the moment of conception. This would hamper the abortion movement since state and federal constitutions grant "persons" special rights such as the right to life and legal standing in court.

However, the Yale conference is not designed to be helpful to the pro-life cause. A description on the conference website reads: "The event will focus on personhood for nonhuman animals, including great apes, cetaceans, and elephants, and will explore the evolving notions of personhood."

Given evolution as an assumption, it is not hard to see the logic in this. Man, after all, is just another animal form created by random chance. If we grant him certain "rights" then why not an elephant, also.

Or a river. The government of New Zealand and the Whanganui Iwi indigenous people recently agreed that the Whanganui River will be legally recognized as a person. This allows anyone to file a lawsuit on behalf of the river for any injustice done to "it"...or would it be to him...or to her? For example, last year, PETA, (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), filed a suit claiming that the five orca whales at Sea World are enslaved, in violation of the 13th Amendment.

But the conference is not just about animal rights. If evolution is true, then it must be still happening. And, it should be possible to help it along. That`s where the idea of "transhumans" comes in. Given the modern advances in technology, we should be able to use that technology to transform humanity into something "beyond" human. The Yale conference will also be exploring that possibility. For a hint on how this might work, one of the speakers is Peter Singer who is known for advocating bestiality as a form of legitimate recreation and infanticide, immediately disposing of a disabled baby anytime in the first 30 days of life.

Of course, the concept of man as animal has led to some horrendous history. Hitler, basically, used this assumption to justify his attempt to develop a superior race through the same kind of culling the weak and "defective," and breeding up the strong. Atheistic evolutionists like Peter Singer have the same objective, a superior race. Their problem is what to do with the culls.

As long as there are people in the world who believe, (of course, that would include us "Christians") as the U.S. constitution says, man is endowed by his Creator with the inalienable right to life, Singer has to find a way to declare them defective and eliminate them, also. Oddly enough, this appears to be the viewpoint of much of our government and university leaders in their increasingly successful campaign to eliminate all acknowledgment of God in public life.

For over a hundred years, Bible believers have sat by and allowed the takeover of our public schools and universities by these leaders with this atheistic, humanistic, evolution-based worldview. To counter this devilish attack, we must start with our children. Parents and church leaders must talk to their children in the government schools and show them how to tell the difference between Biblical truth and Satan`s deception. We can`t shield our kids from these lies, but we can help them see the difference.

Chick Publications has a tract, Big Daddy?, and several books and videos that expose the lie of evolution.
