COVID-19 Has Decimated the Kingdom Halls and Watchtower

Jehovah’s Witnesses are now on a letter-writing campaign in their efforts to proselytize. Perhaps you, or someone you know has received a letter. For almost two years, door-to-door proselytizing and Kingdom Hall meetings have been cancelled due to COVID-19.

Kingdom Halls are supported by individual donations. They do not believe in tithing; and with no meetings taking place, the Watchtower Society has decided to shut down Kingdom Halls to keep costs under control. Kingdom Halls by the hundreds are presently being sold on a global scale —to include Branch Offices and their massive printing facilities. Even their world headquarters in Brooklyn, New York was recently sold.

Even as the Catholic Church has been in the public spotlight due to pedophilia amongst its priests, the Watchtower Society has also been dealing with the same issue —exposed by national and local news outlets. And now, lawsuits against the Watchtower Society are taking a financial toll against the organization. From sales of Watchtower real estate to court-ordered judgments, changes within the Watchtower organization are moving at an unprecedented rate.

But the biggest threat to the Watchtower organization is the internet. Witnesses are strongly discouraged from reading online articles critical of the movement; however, there are those who still read well-researched articles and decide to leave the organization.

Today, Witnesses by the tens of thousands are disillusioned. If the Watchtower organization were to collapse, where would that put over 8 million Jehovah’s Witnesses? They would have no spiritual direction without the organization.

Soul winner, where does that put you?

There is still a need to witness to the Jehovah’s Witnesses; and that need is growing every day! They may be in your family. You may have co-workers, friends, neighbors who are Jehovah’s Witnesses. It’s not enough to learn about the Witnesses. We need to be trained how to help them escape the Watchtower and come into a loving relationship with Jesus. Here are a few steps to get you started:

Ask the Witness if Jehovah recognizes the Watchtower organization as being a true prophet. (The answer will be yes.)

Ask the Witness if the Watchtower is inspired by God just as the Bible was. (The answer will be no).

The point is that the Watchtower organization is an uninspired “true” prophet —which makes no sense. It can’t be reconciled. This is the first step in recognizing that the Watchtower organization, as their source of authority, is not of God.

More detailed training can be found in Winning the Witnesses, published by Chick Publications. It is my prayer that you train and reach out to these precious people —who are now in a greater need of the Lord Jesus than ever before. But with the crumbling of the Watchtower organization, some will be more open to the truth.

Chick Publications also publishes a tract, War Games, that provides a gentle, but relevant narrative of a witnessing situation with a Jehovah’s Witness who might come to your door.
