Dear ones in Christ,
When you`re 90 years old like I am, creaky and wobbly, you can praise God you made it through another night. Even though everything hurts, we`ve still got one job to be done—trying to win souls for our Master. By God`s grace all of the new tracts for 2015 have been written and illustrated. And 2016 is underway.
I spend so much time drawing that my back flares up. So I have to visit my chiropractor from time to time. On my first visit, about 15 years ago, I gave tracts to his nurses. On every visit I have brought them new goodies (tracts). One of the ladies was grateful and excited every time I handed her one.
Well, yesterday the old back was on fire again. It was time for another treatment. So I picked up Halloween tracts for the ladies. The one who was always looking forward to my visit ushered me into the waiting room. I asked her, "Have you ever prayed the suggested prayer in the back of the tracts?" She froze. Her face became almost tragic, then frightened. Then she replied, "No."
I said, "Don`t you realize how close we are to the Lord`s returning?" She was almost shaking and said, "Yes." Just then the doctor walked in and she had to leave. I hope she will consider what I said, take that step and trust Christ for her salvation.
When I was 24 years old, I had a mentor who said to me, "Jack, in a Billy Graham meeting, out of 100 people who go forward to receive the Lord, how many do you think will go on with the Lord?" I didn`t know. He said, "Maybe three or four." Jesus said, "...wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat." (Matthew 7:13).
Will I give up on that lady? No way! I know what she faces. My worst fear is for her to go into a Christless grave. Like a tsunami, billions are being swept into hell. I work 10 hours a day, six days a week, trying to reach souls. We must all do our part. Remember, "...he that winneth souls is wise." (Proverbs 11:30).
I can`t retire! We are at war, beloved.
Your brother in Christ,
Jack Chick
