Murdering babies before birth is not a crime. Now, some people are wanting laws changed to allow it after birth as well.

In the abortion debate, it is obvious that a lot of people don't want a baby before it's born. But that is just a small step away from not wanting the baby after birth. A new law proposed in California seems to be pushing the limit in that direction.

Tagged AB2223, it appears to eliminate any criminal penalties for killing the baby any time before birth and for a short time after birth. The section of the law that is of the most concern reads:

“Notwithstanding any other law, a person shall not be subject to civil or criminal liability or penalty, or otherwise deprived of their rights under this article, based on their actions or omissions with respect to their pregnancy or actual, potential, or alleged pregnancy outcome, including miscarriage, stillbirth, or abortion, or perinatal death due to causes that occurred in utero.”

Since almost all legislation is ambiguous until interpreted by the courts in an actual trial, the debate on this one is going both ways. And the debate is centered around the term “perinatal.” Currently our laws define murder as the killing of a living, breathing human. Newborns inevitably fit this category, even if they live through a botched abortion.

Abortion advocates have no problem lobbying for the child’s death before birth. And it remains to be seen how this law would apply to those who kill a child before birth. But the new use of the term perinatal, brings in a whole new dimension.

Webster defines perinatal as: “…relating to the time, usually a number of weeks, immediately before and after birth.”

It is the “after birth” part that points toward infanticide.

For 50 years we have legalized the murder of babies before birth. This legislation appears to be a blatant attempt to protect from prosecution those who wish to murder the child after it is born.

With California's record of leading the nation into the frontier of sin, the more dire interpretation of the result of this law may be valid. Several legal experts think so. Attorney and Chief Executive Officer Alexandra Snyder of the Life Legal Defense Foundation stated:

“AB 2223 is not only a pro-abortion bill —it removes all civil and criminal penalties for killing babies born alive under any circumstances. The bill expressly authorizes any person to facilitate late-term abortions and infanticide without legal repercussions.”

Attorney and President of the National Center for Law and Policy, Dean Broyles said:

“AB 2223 seeks to legalize the killing of babies in California after birth. Depending on how the term "perinatal" is interpreted by the courts, this bill legalizes the infanticide of children several weeks after their birth and possibly as late as their first birthday. If this barbaric bill is enacted, there will be no criminal or civil liability for the mother or those who assist her with killing her baby post-birth.”

How can this be any different than the Romans who left their unwanted children outside their homes, food for the scavengers? We're told that Christians would gather them up and raise them in the underground church.

Sin that is tolerated inevitably leads to more grievous sin. But fighting legal battles will never win without solid righteousness in the people. And righteousness only comes through repentance and obedience to God's word —revival.

The tract, "Who Murdered Clarice?", shows that a whole crowd of people are guilty in this sinful business: "...parents, relatives, doctors, nurses, senators, congressmen, lobbyists, supreme court justices and finally the presidents..." All stand guilty before Jesus in judgment.

The other tract is entitled, “Baby Talk”. In the story, a teenager learns abortion is murder and Jesus is the only solution.
