Unless you take up your sins in this way, and consider them in detail, one by one, you can form no idea of the amount of them. Your sins were committed one by one; and as far as you can come at them, they ought to be reviewed and repented of one by one.

Break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.– Hos. 10:12

To break up the fallow ground, is to break up your hearts, to prepare your minds to bring forth fruit unto God.

Your goal is to dislodge them from their hiding-places, and bring them to submit to God at once.
